About ARC

Advanced Research Computing, a division of ITS,  provides access to and support for advanced computing resources. ARC facilitates new and more powerful approaches to research challenges in fields ranging from physics to linguistics, and from engineering to medicine.

ARC provides or facilitates access to:

  • A shared computing cluster, Great Lakes, operated on an allocation basis. Researchers can buy as much or as little time as needed on our cluster, currently approximately 27,000 cores and growing.
  • A Hadoop cluster for data-science research.
  • Cloud computing services
  • Research storage
  • Regional and national high performance computing resources
  • Regional and national network resources.
